‘That’s the last thing I remember’ – Mike Tyson, 58, worryingly can’t recall Jake Paul fight after ‘blanking out’

MIKE TYSON worryingly admitted he can’t remember the majority of his fight with Jake Paul.

Iron Mike stepped back into the ring at the grand age of 58 for the Netflix showdown with YouTuber-turn-boxer Paul in November.

However, despite an early flurry, he looked utterly spent and offered very little threat after the first round as Paul secured a comfortable victory on points.

Tyson revealed he “almost died” during his training camp leading up to fight night and then struggled to work out why he was so ineffective in the ring.

Now, though, the former world champion confessed his only memories from the bout come from the first round.

And he has no recollection of anything that happened in the remaining seven two-minute rounds.

Tyson said on Fox Sports Radio: “I don’t remember the fight that much, I kind of blanked out.

“I haven’t watched the fight. You know what I remember.

” I remember coming back from the first round and Jake was doing some sort of bow.

“That’s the last thing I remember. I wasn’t tired, I wasn’t sweaty.

“I went to the house we were staying in, I left the house with my wife and kids, went to the after-party then went back.”

It is estimated Tyson earned a whopping £16million ($20m) from the lucrative money-spinning fight with Paul as 100m fans tuned in.

But the defeat did go on his professional record, taking it to 50 wins, seven losses and two no contests from his 59 bouts.

Whether he gets another fight sanctioned remains to be seen, though, after his concerning behaviour and comments surrounding his latest dust-up.

That is despite Tyson calling out Jake’s brother Logan Paul inside the ring in the immediate aftermath in Dallas.

Both Tyson and Paul were given customary 24-day suspensions from boxing.

But the veteran’s wife Lakiha Spicer added her own ban and insisted Tyson is “done”.

Tyson’s son, Amir, told SecondsOut: “I think he’s done.

“My stepmom, she’s saying he’s done and they’re a team. That’s husband-and-wife stuff.”

Amir would love to tell his old man to call it a day but insists his heartfelt pleas would fall on deaf ears.

In an exclusive interview with SunSport, he said: “That chat would be a waste of time! He is his own man.

“If I say too much he’d only tell me to shut up and remind me I’m not his dad.

“I can say my part but he is the grown-up and he will do whatever he wants.

“I’ll chip in and say, ‘That was a great LAST fight, leave it at that.’

“But if he wants to do it then nobody is going to stop him, because he loves it.”

Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson round-by-round

MIKE TYSON's long-awaited return to the ring didn't have the fairytale ending fight fans dreamed of.

SunSport’s boxing expert Wally Downes Jr recaps one of the drabbest and most forgettable nights in boxing history.

And he didn’t hold back, issuing a scathing assessment of social media sensation Jake Paul.

Round One

Paul says “I love you, Mike” just before the opening bell sounds. He quickly runs away and holds the boxing legend.

Tyson draws a big reaction from the crowd as he lands a jab and a good right hand.

Verdict: 10-9 Tyson

Round Two

Paul ran away in the opener and held – just like we thought he would.

Tommy Fury had it first and now Mike Tyson. It’s clever because Tyson will tire. Paul tags Tyson’s body with a straight right.

Tyson looks spent now. 180 seconds in and the fight looks over.

Verdict: 10-9 Tyson

Round Three

The legend cannot even keep his gumshield in. As expected it’s a waste of time. Paul has run away until the 58-year-old has tired.

Shooting ducks in a barrel now. Tyson might get hurt here. Paul lands a couple of clumsy shots and Tyson wobbles backwards.

Tragic after three.

Verdict: 10-9 Paul

Round Four

This is proper rubbish. The crowd are bored and boos are being heard.

This is just two tired big lumps going at it.  One a legend, one a promoter.

Verdict 10-9 Paul

Round Five

Paul jabs the body and aims right for the head and another one-two clips the icon.

Tyson cannot keep his mouthpiece in, he is gasping for air. Paul lands a left hook but then so does Tyson.

Verdict 10-9 Paul

Round Six

Thank God these weren’t three-minute rounds. We are getting about four punches per round.

Tyson is gasping in the air but replays show a left hook did graze Paul’s beard.

Verdict 10-9 Paul

Round Seven

Tyson slips a jab and tries an uppercut. The commentator admits it has been a “sad” spectacle.

The AT&T stadium has been utterly stunk out. Paul is looking just as tired as Tyson.

Verdict 10-9 Paul

Round Eight

Go back to YouTube, Jake. You’re an excellent conman. But you’ve never been a boxer.

The Judges decide: 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73. I’m glad Tyson gets paid and has stayed safe.

But what a laughable performance from Paul to add to his stinker with Tommy Fury.

Verdict 10-9 Paul
