As the scene progressed, his dog went racing around the grass towards the ex-striker.

Owen nonchalantly tried to hurdle his dog, only to be caught.

He was subsequently sent tumbling to the turf, even rolling over.

After taking stock while lying on his back, Owen eventually made his way back to his feet.

He posted the clip to social media, captioning it: “Never a dive.”

A third cheekily asked: “Have you been watching Saka?”

And another added: “Threw your leg at the poor dog! Not your first dive either.”

Owen won the Ballon d’Or, Premier League and 89 England caps during his distinguished career.

But he recently claimed that winning the FA Cup in 2001 with Liverpool was his highlight.

Appearing on talkSPORT, he said of the occasion: “The best day of my life.

“It was just an incredible season winning all those trophies.

“We won five in that calendar year.

“It was incredible, but that game against Arsenal in the FA Cup final is something I’ll never forget.”
