MANCHESTER UNITED need to get rid of eight players according to Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, Roy Keane and Ian Wright.

The four pundits went through the United squad revealing who they would keep and who they would let go on the Stick to Football podcast.

Many members of the team would be on their last chance if one of the four were in charge, including summer arrival Andre Onana and Scott McTominay – United’s top scorer this season.

While there are only a handful of players the pundits unanimously agreed to keep.

Erik ten Hag is reportedly planning a major clearout which could see senior players like Casemiro and Raphael Varane leave amid links to Saudi Arabia.

More players could leave at the end of the season when their contracts expire, while outcast Jadon Sancho is unlikely to be at the club beyond January.

The four pundits agreed Sancho needs to move on for the benefit of both parties, with seven other players tipped to follow him out of the club.

Victor Lindelof

The defender moved to Old Trafford in 2017 and has made 249 appearances for the club – but Neville and Co. believe it is time for an upgrade.

Lindelof, 29, is supposed to be a back-up option but injuries to Varane and Lisandro Martinez mean he has featured heavily this season and contributed to the Red Devils conceding 14 goals in just five Champions League games.

Raphael Varane

Big things were expected of Varane when he joined from Real Madrid two years ago but he has not made the desired impact.

Injuries have hampered the defender and at 30-years-old he is unlikely to shake those issues.

That, combined with his £340,000 weekly wage means United are considering getting rid, and that would be a move all four pundits support.

Jonny Evans

Evans, 35, returned to United as a short-term fix and is expected to leave in the summer.

Neville joked the centre-back probably does not want to be at the club given the chaos that has surrounded the team this year, though the defender revealed it is an honour to play at Old Trafford in front of his children.

Sofyan Amrabat

The fact Neville, Carragher, Keane and Wright would get rid of Sofyan Amrabat is a damning indictment of his performances.

Amrabat, 27, joined in August on a season-long loan and has made 14 appearances, yet failed to show in any capacity how he could be a useful player for Ten Hag to call upon, according to the pundits.

Christian Eriksen

Christian Eriksen was an important player for Ten Hag last season but it appears his age may be catching up with him.

He will be 32-years-old by the end of the season and the Stick to Football panel feel it is time to bring in a younger midfielder with more energy.

Antony

The Brazilian has been one of the biggest flop signings in Premier League history – and appears to be going backwards.

Antony, 23, has contributed eight goals in 59 United appearances but has failed to find the net this season while his presence often makes the team disjointed.

All four pundits have been critical of the winger in the past with his poor work rate often picked on.

Jadon Sancho

Another failed signing of recent years, Jadon Sancho has just 12 goals and six assists in 82 United games.

Ten Hag gave him time off last season in hopes of recharging his game but it did not pay off, and instead the pair had a spat in September that seems to have signalled the end of Sancho’s time at the club.

Neville and his colleagues see no way back for Sancho, 23, who could return to Borussia Dortmund in January.

Anthony Martial

The striker, 28, is out of contract at the end of the season so his 12-year Old Trafford looks set to come to an end.

The pundits agreed he should be let go after failing to meet expectations after United splashed out £45million.

The Frenchman has failed to complete 90 minutes for the Red Devils in three years which highlights the problems he has had.
