Sources said they were struggling to spend time together due to his busy schedule after his epic run to the world darts final in January catapulted him to superstardom.
Kebab-loving Luke yesterday defended Eloise following abuse from online trolls.
However insiders say she was shocked at their split.
One family source said: “They’d been speaking the night before and then he just messaged her the next day saying it’s over.
“She’s devastated – she didn’t see it coming.
“They were getting on fine then he dumped her, completely out of the blue.
“Of course he dumped her by text – he’s a teenage boy!
“They do everything on their phones nowadays.
“I’m sure they will remain friends but at the moment it’s very raw.”
Meanwhile, Luke posted on Instagram yesterday after the news broke: “Everyone needs to stop sending hate towards Eloise saying it’s her fault, this and that.
“I myself split up with Eloise and everyone just needs to give us some time.
“No need for everyone to message her and give her grief.”
‘Cares deeply’
Warrington lad Luke met Surrey lass Eloise – a keen amateur darts player herself – in August last year while on a development tour in Leicester.
Our source added: “Luke still cares very deeply about Eloise of course, hence why he leapt to her defence over the abuse she’s been getting.”
She cheered Luke on at last year’s world championships, where he lost in the final to Luke Humphries.
He has since become Premier League Darts champ, winning £315,000.
Inside Littler's massive rise
LUKE LITTLER has taken the darts world by storm since exploding onto the scene at the PDC World Championship.

And the teenage titan even had to snub an invite from the WWE.
The Sun exclusively revealed that Littler is plotting to create a fitness empire.
He is also cashing in away from the Oche thanks to an Instagram side hustle.
And he’s even the face of a brand new cereal.
The wonderkid has now cemented his place among the tungsten elite by winning the Premier League Darts final – and the £275k top prize.
