TODD BOEHLY’s stunning £1.3BILLION outlay on transfers has reached a major milestone.

The American has seen 38 new players walk through the doors at Stamford Bridge since the takeover in May 2022.

Chelsea currently boasts a swollen squad of 48 players including costly buys such as Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

The two midfielders cost the club over £100million each while other players such as Mykhailo Mudryk and Christopher Nkunku have also cost over £50m each.

The club has also recently acquired Pedro Neto from Wolves in a deal worth another £54m.

Since taking over the club, Boehly has overseen £1.1bn in spending on new players.

That means that in the American’s two-year tenure alone, Chelsea would be the club with the tenth-biggest transfer outlay in the history of English football.

The Blues are top of the list when adding in their previous business, with a total of £3.31bn being spent on players in the club’s history.

This is more than the £2.45bn spent by Manchester City and the £2.31bn forked out by Manchester United.

In the last two years, Chelsea have spent more than the likes of Everton, Leeds, Southampton and Fulham in their entire history.

The 20th club on the list is Bournemouth, while the 19th is Nottingham Forest.

The last two years of Chelsea are just behind West Ham, who have spent £1.21bn in its whole history.

This includes the wealth of talent brought to the London Stadium this summer, such as Jean-Clair Todibo, Crysencio Summerville, Niclas Fullkrug and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Boehly is also catching up with the likes of Aston Villa and Newcastle, who have spent the 8th and 7th most in their history.

Fans have been left stunned at the spending of the club since the takeover in 2022.

One posted: “I mean, absurd isn’t even doing it justice.”

A second commented: “Chelsea’s transfer spree is something else.”

A third wrote: “And still finish mid-table lol.”

A fourth said: “Boehly spending all that money only to make the team worse.”

Another added: “This is just ridiculous.”
