Olympics-goers could catch a glimpse of Mission Impossible star Tom Cruise, who has headed inside the artistic gymnastics centre for a day of top-class routines showcasing strength and flexibility.

He settled in his seat in anticipation of fellow American – Olympic legend and Netflix star Simone Biles, 27 – who will compete on Sunday.

The Hollywood favourite, 62, opted for low-key attire, pairing a white top with blue trousers.

The Top Gun frontman clipped his sunglasses to his shirt neckline and appeared deep in conversation with a pal as they waited for the competition to start.

Yet he took time to meet the crowd, who quickly realised just who he was.

Tom took time to wave to a bunch of sports fans alongside his seating area before heading over for selfies.

Also in the Bercy Arena was The Vampire Diaries actress Nina Dobrev.

She had been spotted earlier in the weekend sporting a knee brace and using cane – suffered during a recent dirt bike accident – as she headed for lunch in Paris with her boyfriend, Olympian Shaun White.

The Canadian is a snowboarder and skateboarder and proud owner of five gold medals.

The duo sat in the stands near Tom to witness the women’s qualification stages.

Nina pulled her dark hair into a high ponytail and wore a smart casual black strappy top and white trousers outfit.

She was seen taking selfies with her man, who looked chic in a blue polo top.

Perhaps feeling the cold the Love Hard star, 35, then pulled on a white knit jersey emblazoned with the Olympics logo and an American flag.
