However, Ange Postecoglou’s men held firm and looked to be heading for a stalemate until the final seconds.

Goalkeeper Vicario was left fuming after he claimed Ake had fouled him as he came to collect a cross that he spilled and was then fkicked in by the Dutchman.

But another VAR check brought good news this time for City as they allowed it to stand as they secured the hard-fought win.
