Tottenham CONFIRM signing of Ashley Phillips after triggering hidden transfer clause to land top-rated defender

And new Spurs chief Ange Postecoglou has landed his man – who caught the eye of several other Premier League sides last season.

An excerpt of a club statement read: “We are delighted to announce the signing of Ashley Phillips from Blackburn Rovers.

“The centre-back has signed a deal with the Club that will run until 2028.”

Spurs snapped up the highly-rated for a mere £2million after triggering a clause in the teenager’s contract with Rovers.

Phillips has become Spur’s EIGHTH signing of a busy transfer window for new gaffer Postecoglu.
