Tottenham ‘keen on Wolves star to bolster midfield but could be forced to splash out more than £30m’

TOTTENHAM are keen on signing Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes, according to reports.

Ange Postecoglou is looking to bolster his midfield options after already adding to his defence and attack this month.

Tottenham are reportedly eyeing a move for Wolves midfielder Joao GomesRex

Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin have both moved to North London so far in January.

Reports in Brazil claim that Spurs have been keeping an eye on Gomes and are planning an imminent bid.

However, Wolves are said to see the midfielder as essential and will not sell him for any less than £30million during the current window.

The report adds that Gomes’ former club Flamengo would receive 10 per cent of any transfer fee.

Gomes would become Postecoglou’s third January signed, with Werner joining on loan from RB Leipzig earlier this week.

His arrival was followed by that of Dragusin on Thursday, when the club announced a six-and-a-half year deal for the Romanian defender.

Spurs’ midfield is now expected to be the next area the club will look to strengthen, with Gomes a potential target.

He joined Wolves from Flamengo in January 2023 for £16million and has since become a key player at Molineux.

Although he could move for the right price, SunSport understands the Blues will not allow Gallagher to join their London rivals.
