DANA WHITE gave a brutal response to Conor McGregor calling out Nate Diaz for a trilogy fight.

McGregor has been left frustrated as talks for his UFC return – set to be against Michael Chandler – continue to drag.

The Irishman took to social media to reveal he plans to face Chandler on July 29 before a trilogy in September against Diaz.

McGregor famously lost to Diaz in March 2016 but won the rematch in a five-round thriller five months later.

A trilogy decider has evaded fans and Diaz last year walked out on the UFC to fight YouTuber-turned boxer Jake Paul.

So it leaves UFC president White uninterested in granting McGregor’s wish for a rubber match.

He said: “Yeah, I’m not doing that fight.”

Diaz, 38, was beaten on points by Paul, 27, last August and his fighting future remains up in the air.

McGregor, 35, has meanwhile been out of action since July 2021, when he broke his leg against Dustin Poirier, also 35.

And he has maintained that his anticipated return bout will be against Chandler, 37, who has also been left in the lurch.

McGregor even took to social media to brazenly announce he was fighting the American on June 29 at middleweight.

But White was quick to shut down the claim and said the fight is more likely for the winter.

McGregor hosted a Q&A on Instagram in the build up to the release of his movie debut, starring alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in a Roadhouse reeboot.

And he told his 47million followers that he still wants the fight date with Chandler before settling the score with Diaz.

McGregor posted: “I wish for this on Mexican Independence Day in the sphere. Chandler June. Diaz September. I have let this be known.”

On his next fight, he said: “Still holding hope for June 29.

“Lack of action on it, however, is now causing lack of enthusiasm. I need a decision soon.

“I am the most tested athlete under this new regime. Yet no date to fight.

“The game is a bit lacklustre also at present, which isn’t helping. I hope these next few cards pop and I get a date.

“Eliminate distractions and begin real work towards it.”
