UNEMPLOYED David de Gea has reportedly been lined up for a stunning switch to Bayern Munich.

The Spanish stopper is a free agent after his 12-year Manchester United career ended this month.

De Gea’s contract was not renewed by Erik ten Hag after five major trophy wins.

And he was swiftly replaced by £47million man Andre Onana, sparking a transfer merry-go-round.

Inter Milan are on the verge of replacing United’s newest signing with Bayern Munich’s Yann Sommer.

And Bild claims the Germans have now made an enquiry about De Gea’s interest in a Bundesliga switch.

Manuel Neuer is set to start the new season as Thomas Tuchel’s No1.

But De Gea would provide quality depth and experience for the champions, while also costing absolutely nothing.

Bayern are also looking at fellow Spaniard and Brentford stopper David Raya.

However, he is valued at £40m by his club, with Tottenham already put off by the price-tag.

De Ge has already rejected an approach from Inter as his preference is to return to LaLiga.

Yet he could be tempted by a crack at title glory with Bayern should he be guaranteed valuable minutes.

De Gea isn’t the only goalie to be axed by United this summer.

Dean Henderson is hoping to return to Nottingham Forest after seeing Anthony Elanga complete a £15m move.

And Nathan Bishop looks set for Sunderland following his pre-season row with Wrexham.
