US Ryder Cup star Max Homa hits the longest drive EVER on the PGA Tour… but nobody will ever see it

MAX HOMA made history by hitting the longest drive EVER on the PGA Tour – then laughed off the accomplishment.

The US Ryder Cup star, 33, produced a record 477-yard drive at The Sentry in Hawaii at the weekend.

But unfortunately for him and fans across the globe nobody will ever see it.

Homa’s big moment came on the 7th hole, which was a 525-yard downhill par-4, with a shot that continued to roll and roll before ending up just 43 yards from the hole.

It was later confirmed that it measured 477 yards, the longest in the PGA Tour’s Shotlink era, which began in 2003.

That was enough to edge out Davis Love III’s 476 drive on the 18th hole at the 2004 event at Kapalua.

Six-time PGA Tour winner Homa then took to X, formerly Twitter, afterwards to post tongue-in-cheek: “For it being uphill into the wind with no roll I was pretty proud of this one.”

His epic drive occurred on a course where 400-plus-yard drives have become a regular occurrence.

Three of the top five longest drives in PGA Tour history have come at The Sentry.

And his downhill drive played straight into his hands as everything that could go right for him did as he played downwind.

By the time his ball stopped rolling, it left around 43 yards for his second shot.

He duly knocked that just four feet from the pin, and he then went on to slot home the birdie putt.

But despite Homa now holding the bragging rights for the longest recorded drive in PGA Tour competition, only a few people witnessed it.

And he will be unable to relive that moment himself due to the event not being recorded on the camera.
