BERNARDO SILVA changed his mind about Manchester City winning the Premier League title thanks to the reporter.

City drew 0-0 at home to Arsenal on Easter Sunday and now have nine games left of the season remaining to retain the league title.

While City created a few threatening chances the Gunner defended impressively to only hand Pep Guardiola‘s side one point.

But as Liverpool won their game 2-1 against Brighton it has left City trailing Arsenal by one point and the Reds three in the table.

In the unlikely chance all three teams win all their next fixtures City will finish third.

And midfielder Silva was honest that for City to stand a chance at winning the title their rivals have to drop points.

Reporter Patrick Davison reminded him that City have nine games instead of seven left this season.

The Portuguese said: “A lot can happen now, because [there are] seven games right?,” before the interviewer interjected.

“Oh nine? That’s better for us,” he added with a smile. “I thought it was like seven or eight but nine is better because a lot can happen.”

The reporter jokingly asked: “Back in it?” to which Silva responded: “Yeah, we’re back in it.”

He continued: “Now we don’t depend on ourselves. We depend on Liverpool and Arsenal now because we don’t play against them again, so we need them to drop points as well as do our job and win our own games.”

In March City also drew Liverpool at Anfield and still face tough fixtures hosting Aston Villa and Tottenham.

Silva, 29, joined City in 2017 from Monaco and has won five league titles with Guardiola’s side.

He has also secured two FA Cups, four League Cups and the Champions League in City’s Treble-winning previous campaign.
