DARYL GURNEY produced three brilliant darts to beat Dave Chisnall in the Hungarian Darts Trophy.
Michael van Gerwen won the tournament to land his 37th European Tour title.
Daryl Gurney showed brilliant skill to seal victory with a 167-checkout[/caption]But the last-16 tie between Gurney and No1 seed Dave Chisnall was pulsating, and went right to the wire.
With the score level on 5-5 it went down to the final leg and Gurney looked to have wasted his chance.
A trebleless visit and a score of 60 left him with plenty of work to do after Chisnall left 69.
But Gurney was undeterred and sealed victory by checking out 167 – treble 20, treble 19 and bullseye.
It was his third three-figure finish of the match after checking out 124 and 152.
His opponent could only stand and applaud as Gurney roared in delight before jumping up and down.
Gurney’s joy was short-lived however as he was beaten in the next round by Ryan Searle.
However fans loved his composure and heaped praise on the star following his clinical checkout.
