VanZant, 30, scored two knockdowns before her winning slap against Christine Wolmarans on Friday.

She knocked her rival down with her second and third slaps during the three-round clash at Power Slap 8.

Wolmarans managed to keep going and was able to reply with her own attempts.

However, VanZant was able to withstand the slaps as she barely seemed to get hurt.

This was even the case for Wolmarans’ fourth slap which she was allowed after VanZant flinched in the third round.

At the end of the clash, VanZant was named the winner as all three judges scored the match 30-25 to her.

After the bout, VanZant insisted that she was happy with her debut.

She said: “Honestly, it was absolutely incredible.

“Of course, I wanted to knock her out with the first slap, but I’m so happy that it went the way that it did.

“I knew I could take a punch, I knew I could take a slap. That was really fun.”

She was also asked about participating in the competition again.

And Vanzant was clear in her ambitions as she added: “This is too much fun to walk away from.”
