He has since played in Turkey and Japan and now plies his trade in Poland, the country of his birth.

Aged 38, the 130-cap Germany international still possesses a rocket of a left foot.

And he proved that by scoring a belter while playing for Gornik Zabrze.

During the Polish top flight clash with Piast Gliwice, Podolski took aim from 30 yards out.

The veteran thwacked the ball into the roof of the net to put his side 3-0 up.

Fans were left in awe at his strike… and stunned that he’s still going.

One wrote: “Wait he’s still playing?”

While a second commented: “Didn’t even know he was still playing.”

A third gushed: “Class is permanent.”

And another added: “You never lose it.”

This isn’t the first time Podolski has gone viral since signing for Gornik.

In November 2022, he stunned fans by scoring from inside his own half.

Since leaving Arsenal, Podolski has also developed his business interests off the pitch.

The forward has opened a string of kebab shops in Germany.

And he also owns an ice cream parlour, a pub and a clothes shop.

Gornik have fallen on hard times in recent months.

Earlier this season it was reported that Podolski and Co had gone two months without getting paid.

They are seventh in the 18-team Polish Ekstraklasa, with Podolski having scored three goals in 14 appearances.
