BRILLIANT new footage has revealed that Eddie Howe turned Erik ten Hag’s “annoying” comments about Newcastle into motivation for his team.

The Magpies are set to star in a brand new Amazon Prime Video documentary called “We Are Newcastle United” that will be aired on August 11.

It follows the North East side’s campaigns last season, where they were defeated in the Carabao Cup Final at Wembley by United.

But despite that setback, Newcastle still managed to secure Champions League qualification with a top four finish.

One of the games that helped seal fourth-place was a 2-0 victory over the Red Devils at St. James’ Park in April as goals from Joe Willock and Callum Wilson blew United away.

Now the new documentary has revealed that Howe read out some unflattering remarks about his side made by Ten Hag to get them fired up just before kick-off.

Showing the Toon manager’s final speech to his players in the dressing-room, he says: “My final message today, I’m going to do something that I rarely do but I felt upon hearing the comments, I needed to relay it to you.

“So comments from their manager [Ten Hag]: ‘They have the lowest ball in play time in the league and are quite successful at slowing the game down.

“’It’s an annoying team to play against so we have to find a way to play against them.

“So it’s up to us that we get the speed in the game, and we are also dependent on the refereeing as well.”

Howe continues: “Why am I telling you that? If they want a quick game, coming here, let’s f***ing give it to them.

“Let’s be intense in every action that we do, let’s make it a quick game. Let’s go!”

Ten Hag had made his comments ahead of the Carabao Cup final in February after a goalless draw against Newcastle at Old Trafford earlier in the Premier League season.

“Love this man,” declared one Toon supporter after watching the clip on social media.

Another said they had “goosebumps” while a fellow Magpie added: “F***ing hell I nearly got up and started running at the end of that.”

One more wrote: “I love Eddie Howe as a manager hope he wins things with Newcastle.”

While another even went as far to thank Ten Hag for unleashing the beast.

They said: “All I can say is congrats to Erik Ten Hag you p***ed off Howe and paid for it, because not only did you lose the game but we’re dominated completely for the entirety of it.

“Well done mate and thanks for unlocking this version of Howe.”
