Salah found the back of the net with the second goal in the Reds’ 2-0 victory against Ipswich at Portman Road.

The 32-year-old has now scored nine goals across all of his first games of the season.

He previously shared this record with Wayne Rooney, Alan Shearer, and Frank Lampard.

Salah found the net for the first time on an opening day when he made his Premier League debut against Watford in the 2017/18 season.

Since then, he’s scored against West Ham, Norwich (twice), Leeds (with a hat-trick), and Fulham — all on the first weekend of their respective seasons.

His latest strike against the returning Tractor Boys marked his 212th goal for Liverpool.

Just minutes before that, Salah assisted Diogo Jota’s opening goal for Arne Slot’s side.

And fans wasted no time in lavishing praise on the star on social media.

One called him the “Premier League GOAT”.

Another added: “This guy is a monster.”

A third then put: “One of the greatest.”

The only time Salah has failed to score on the opening match of the season during his Liverpool career was against Chelsea 12 months ago, although he did provide an assist in a 1-1 draw.

The game against Kieran Mckenna‘s side also marked a new era for Liverpool.

This was Slot’s first Premier League clash after the Dutchman replaced Jurgen Klopp in the Anfield dugout ahead of the new campaign.
