But speculation continues to rumble on about his Seagulls future, with Chelsea eager to secure his signature.

Boss Roberto De Zerbi left Caicedo out of his side’s 4-3 defeat to the Blues in Philadelphia on Saturday.

Chelsea have had two offers turned down for the 21-year-old, with the latest believed to have been worth around £70million.

While he didn’t play in Brighton’s most recent friendly, Caicedo has still been taking part in other aspects of their pre-season tour.

He recently signed autographs for fans, with one asking: “Moises, are you going to Chelsea?”

The Ecuadorian initially turned towards the person asking the question, but didn’t respond before turning back to sign more autographs.

He did offer a small smirk, however, with fans convinced it’s a sign.

One wrote: “The smile afterwards indicates a yes lol.”

While a second tweeted: “Heard chelsea and smiled.”

Another added: “His mood and reaction says it all.”

Brighton are said to value Caicedo at over £100m, using Declan Rice’s £105m move from West Ham to Arsenal as a guide.

After leaving Caicedo out on Saturday, De Zerbi said: “The situation is very clear. At the moment Moises is a Brighton player.

“I spoke with Tony [Bloom] and he told me if the conditions don’t change, Moises stays with us. For me it should be great news because it is difficult to find another player like Moises.

“If Moises leaves we have to find another player of the same level because we deserve to play the next season with the same level of midfielder.

“Moises is a great player, a big player, but he has to know he is playing for Brighton and give his best to Brighton, not anyone else.”

Caicedo has since removed Brighton from his Instagram bio.
