The show sees celebrities take to the ballroom every Saturday between its September start date and Christmas final.

Sky Sports made it official during the latest edition of Soccer Special as they announced Merse will be away for a while.

The ex-England international cracked a few jokes with the rest of the panel as he hoped “Chelsea are still in the title race” when he gets back.

The pundit also admitted he is not a “natural dancer” but is very much up for the challenge.

Merson‘s fellow pundits then asked him to give them a preview of what’s to come.

And the Arsenal hero decided to indulge them as he got up and put together quite some footwork.

Sky Sports shared a clip with the following caption: “Give him that glitterball now!”

Fans were left in awe as they stormed social media and showed that Merson will have quite some support at Strictly.
