STEPHEN HOWSON has been spotted getting involved with a punching and headbutting incident during a Sunday League brawl.

The content creator is a close associate of Rio Ferdinand and works with the Manchester United legend on his “Five” Youtube channel.

In his spare time, Howson manages Sunday League side Stretford Paddock in Manchester.

During an away match last weekend, the YouTuber was frustrated by “two-footed” challenges on his players.

Howson entered the pitch to remonstrate with the referee, before being confronted by an opposition player.

In footage shared to Howson’s Patreon site, the opponent appeared to stick his head into the Stretford Paddock boss.

Howson briefly looked towards the referee, before appearing to throw two punches.

He then appeared to bang heads with a second opposition player, before dodging a swing from the first.

The YouTube star then disappeared from view of the camera as players from both teams rush over.

Howson attempted to explain what happened to his subscribers, while sporting a huge black eye.

He said: “One of the opposition players tells me to get off the pitch and then headbutts me which is hilarious because they’ve all been in my social media today with just fantasy versions of what happened.

“I know that everything we do is recorded so I’ve got no qualms telling you what happened because I know what happened.

“I’ve rewatched what happened and I’ve actually shared the full ‘Here’s What Happened’ on Patreon.”

He went on to add: “Yesterday there was probably four or five two-footed challenges in the first 20 minutes of our game.

“I stepped on to the pitch about a foot to shout at the referee, which again is not ideal, is it?

“But protecting my players is my number one thought in that sort of circumstance.”

Howson regularly appears on “Vibe with Five” alongside pal Ferdinand.

He was roundly criticised in 2022 when he claimed that Ed Woodward had been worse for the Red Devils than the 1958 Munich Air Disaster, which saw 23 people die – including eight Manchester United players and three members of staff.

Howson said at the time: “I think where United are at the moment, f*** it I’m gonna say it on camera. I think Woodward was worse for us than Munich.

“Obviously I’m not comparing people passing away, but I’m saying ten years post-Munich we was European champions. Ten years of Woodward, we’re in the s***.

“I’m absolutely not taking anything away from the people who have lost their lives in Munich, but in terms of something that’s f***ing happened, Woodward has been f***ing worse for the football club and where we’ve progressed in that time.”
