And after being announced as a new signing for the Spanish side earlier this month, he has now undergone his squad initiation.

In a video shared by Villarreal’s official Twitter page, Brereton Diaz can be seen standing in front of his team-mates.

The 24-year-old introduces himself by name, sparking them into applause.

He is then seen standing on a chair, with many of his new team-mates joining him on their feet as he belted out Sweet Caroline.

Brereton Diaz then builds up to the chorus of Neil Diamond’s 1969 classic.

They then erupt into song together, with everyone in the room singing and some players even having whipped their shirts off.

Once the song had finished, the Villarreal squad then broke into a chant with Brereton Diaz pictured with a beaming smile.

Fans also appeared to love the karaoke, with one commenting: “It is adorable.”

While a third fan added: “You can’t NOT love this!!!!”

SunSport exclusively told you last November how Villarreal would wait to sign the forward when his contract with Rovers ran out.

We also told you in February how the Championship side had tabled a £30,000-a-week deal to try and keep their ace at Ewood Park.

Last season Brereton Diaz netted 14 goals in the Championship as Blackburn missed out on a Play-offs on goal difference.
