BRUNO FERNANDES was left emotional after a wholesome moment in a post-match interview.

The Manchester United captain spoke to the club’s media team after their thrilling 4-3 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup.

Fernandes ran his socks off for the entire 120 minutes as Amad Diallo’s last-gasp winner booked the Red Devils’ place in the semi-final.

However, the Portuguese midfielder instead focused on his team-mates’ performances as he singled out several individuals for praise.

He told MUTV: “Antony made a great effort, playing as a left-back to help us because Victor Lindelof was completely over, he couldn’t run anymore as he it gave it all for us

“I want to get a word there for Harry Maguire because we got Jonny Evans injured yesterday and he did the effort to play today.

“He wasn’t ready to play from the first minute and he did a great effort to help us and start the game because we didn’t have any more players.”

Reporter Liam Bradford then flipped the conversation to talk about Fernandes‘ display, saying: “You’ve been a kind captain, giving everybody a bit of praise so I’m going to give some to you.

“You are always available for this team. You always give everything that you can physically give.

“It is appreciated by the fans all the way around the stadium. I hope you know how much you’re loved by the fans in stands.”

Fernandes appeared to have tears in his eyes as he listened to the kind words from the Man Utd reporter.

The skipper responded: “I appreciate that, you got me a little bit emotional because there is good moments and bad moments – but I am always there for them.”

Fernandes and the interviewer then shared a hug at the end of their chat.

Fans loved the wholesome moment, with one saying: “That look on his face. Absolutely adorable.”

Another added: “Don’t care what anyone says this lad loves the club.”

Fernandes also revealed he is prepared for the semi-final clash with Coventry as he has a surprise interest in the Championship.

He explained: “It is a tough game. I see some some of their games because my chef at home is a Sunderland fan.

“I get to see some Championship games sometimes with him at home.”
