WEST HAM have made a shock transfer enquiry for Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran.
However, Chelsea are also monitoring the Colombian forward.
West Ham are targeting a move for Jhon Duran from Aston Villa[/caption]Duran, 20, joined Villa from Chicago Fire in a £17.75million deal in 2023.
But he has struggled for game time under Unai Emery.
The striker is on 23 appearances this season – scoring four goals.
However, just seven of those matches have come as starts, including none in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, his two strikes in the Prem both came by mid-September.
SunSport understands Duran is keen to explore other options to bolster his game time.
However, high-flying Villa are unlikely to do business for Duran, who has other admirers including Chelsea, unless there is a big offer rather than a loan deal on the table.
West Ham are desperate to bring in a new striker during the January transfer window with manager David Moyes behind the idea of going for a proven striker.

SunSport also revealed the Hammers are willing to break their £42m transfer record in order to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Victor Boniface.
The 23-year-old Nigerian – also linked with Chelsea and Newcastle – only joined the Bundesliga side in the summer but is already proving his ability at the top level.
The Irons have long-term doubts over Michail Antonio and Danny Ings, who are both on big wages and could both be shifted out if another striker is brought in.
Said Benrahma would also be allowed to leave if the right offer comes in.
