WEST HAM have rejected a loan offer from Marseille for winger Said Benrahma.

The club want up to £25million for the former Brentford man, who has also attracted interest from Lyon.

The Hammers have been open to selling the winger this month, though a knee injury to Lucas Paqueta has made an exit less likely.

French side Marseille proposed a loan deal until the end of the season with a view to making the move permanent.

But West Ham reportedly prefer a full sale as they look to bolster their own budget for attacking reinforcements.

Benrahma has slipped down the pecking order this term following the summer signing of Mohammed Kudus from Ajax.

He has just five Premier League starts and is yet to score in 21 appearances across all competitions.

Fans were left incensed following his 51st minute red card in the side’s shock 1-0 defeat to Championship side Bristol City in the FA Cup on Tuesday.

The Hammers were dumped out by Tommy Conway’s early strike after an error by Konstantinos Mavropanos.

Benrahma’s marching orders came for kicking out at Joe Williams in retaliation to A strong tackle, which summed up his ineffective night from the left-hand side.

The 28-year-old was left out of Algeria’s squad for the African Cup of Nations this winter after falling out with his manager in October.

His current contract – which sees him pocket £55k-per-week – runs until 2026.

The winger has made 141 appearances for West Ham since joining for £20million from Brentford in 2021.

The East London outfit have been linked with players including Jack Clarke, Steven Bergwijn and Kalvin Phillips, but are not close to signing any of them as it stands.
