What does Phil Foden’s neck tattoo say?

Foden began his football career with Manchester City at only 17, and became the youngest English player to start in a UEFA Champions League in 2019.

In 2024, the midfielder won his sixth Premier League title with the Cityzens and capped off the campaign by winning the Premier League Player of the Year award.

With such a successful career, the wording on his tattoo does not come as a surprise.

It is quite popular nowadays for footie stars to sport interesting tattoos, with former Manchester United player David Beckham having numerous inkings on his neck, arms, back and torso.

Foden’s tatt features the inspirational words “Sky is the limit”, running from his left ear down to the bottom of his neck.

He got his tattoo done in February 2022 by popular tattoo artist, Gabriel Maniak.

His tatt hit the spotlight after he scored the winner in Manchester City’s 1-0 victory over Everton in February 2022.

What is the meaning behind Phil Foden’s neck tattoo?

The meaning behind his tattoo “Sky is the limit”, refers to the idea that nothing is impossible or beyond reach.

And with Foden’s football career this can’t be more true for his case.

The Man City midfielder has won 17 major honours with his boyhood club and is now looking to help England to their first tournament triumph since the 1966 World Cup.

Foden is a key component of Gareth Southgate’s system at Euro 2024 this summer and he is set to start in the final against Spain.

Inside humble Phil Foden's family life

PHIL FODEN may be flashy on the pitch, but the Premier League’s Player of the Year is a humble family man off it.

The Man City superstar earns an astonishing salary believed to be £11.7million-per-year.

But the Stockport kid is frugal with his cash as he enjoys his down time with childhood sweetheart Rebecca and their two kids.

Foden only passed his driving test last year… and turns up for training in City’s glittering club car park in a £40k VOLKSWAGEN.

And in his spare time he loves nothing more than a FISHING trip.

He celebrated his first big City contract by buying his mum and dad a Cheshire mansion and lives with them until 2021.

But Foden has now splashed out on a luxury £3million mansion for his own growing family.

The midfielder has stuck with 47 from when he made his senior debut coming on as a substitute for midfield machine Yaya Toure in 2017.

The touching reason behind the number 47 is that it reportedly acts as a permanent tribute for Foden’s grandfather Ronnie, who passed away at age 47.

And it solidifies his family bond with Manchester City as it has been claimed that Ronnie was an avid City fan growing up.
