SKY SPORTS NEWS fans were stunned after Stuart Broad appeared as a football pundit last night.
The England cricket legend called time on his career last summer following England‘s Ashes stalemate with Australia.
Stuart Broad was covering Nottingham Forest’s fifth round clash with Manchester United[/caption]He’s since made his way into football punditry and was on duty for the FA Cup fifth round clashes on Sky Sports News.
Broad, 37, covered Nottingham Forest‘s 1-0 loss to Manchester United.
It’s not the first time Broad has appeared on the channel as a pundit covering his beloved Forest – he was also on duty for the club’s Carabao Cup clash with Burnley in August last year.
But his latest appearance caused some confusion given the high profile of the game.
Sky Sports posted a video on X of Broad’s analysis of United’s goal, which involved a complicated VAR check.
The former cricketer argued that Raphael Varane was offside in the build-up, blocking Ryan Yates before Casemiro scored the goal.
He said the incident was reminiscent of Virgil van Dijk’s disallowed goal in Sunday’s Carabao Cup final and should have also been disallowed for consistency – but the United goal was allowed anyway.
One fan tweeted: “Imagine Roy Keane doing the cricket punditry. What is happening at Sky?”

Another fan said: “How’s Stuart broad a better pundit than the majority of ex footballers?”
A third said: “Can we get Micah Richards to commentate on the cricket this summer?”
While a fourth said he was a fan of Broad’s analysis and wrote: “He’s 1000x better than the usual lot they have doing it. Well in Broady.”
A fifth said: “Seeing Broad doing punditry on another sport is brilliant, comes off really well too.”
United were handed a tricky home fixture against league leaders Liverpool after making their way past Forest.
