The victory was enough to take Mikel Arteta’s side to the top of the Premier League ahead of Liverpool’s trip to Manchester United on Sunday.
However, Havertz’s decision to hand his shirt to Brighton’s assistant manager angered Tim Sherwood.
The former Tottenham boss was shocked by the incident and made his feelings known at full-time.
He told Premier League Productions: “Interesting there I see Kai Havertz giving his shirt to the assistant manager of Brighton.
“I can’t have that. What the hell is that man thinking about?!”
Havertz enjoyed an eventful evening as he scored his 10th Arsenal goal to double their lead during the second half.
The strike was also his ninth in the league this season, the most he has managed since moving to England.
