FANS have fumed after Channel 4 cut to an ad break just 10 minutes into their coverage of the Paralympic opening ceremony.
Those watching from home complained they weren’t able to fully enjoy the Parisian spectacle.
The opening ceremony was raking place at the Place de la Concorde in Paris[/caption] Adverts cut off part of the ceremony for fans at home[/caption]Seething with their viewing being snatched away by a scheduled ad break, fans took to social media to react.
One wrote: “Ad breaks. During the opening ceremony. Really, Channel 4!?”.
While another added: “That’s a new low… ad breaks during the ceremony.”
A third fumed: “Good timing Channel 4! Showing ads over the opening fireworks of the Paralympic Games.”
And a fourth posted: “Adverts during the #Paralympic2024 Opening Ceremony, whatever next Channel 4!”.
While another fan at home had pleaded with the broadcaster not to use ads during the ceremony before it began, writing: “I really hope Channel 4 aren’t going to ruin the Paralympics Opening Ceremony with ads!”.
Only to quickly receive a reply from someone who simply wrote: “They have…”
The ceremony itself got underway spectacularly with the athletes showing off their colours to the spectators in France as they made their way down the Place de la Concorde.
