STUART PEARCE joked that his bad day was made worse as he discovered he was left with Martin Keown’s autobiography after falling ill on a flight.
The former England defender suffered chest pains on a flight from Las Vegas to Heathrow.

GettyMedics attended to Pearce and had to “stick a tube” down his throat and dramatically “reboot” his heart.
Pearce, 62, spent five days in hospital after the ordeal but revealed things got even worse for him after a baggage blunder.
The plane made an emergency landing in St. John’s, Canada, but the luggage went on to London.
That meant all Pearce was left with was Keown‘s autobiography.
He joked about the ITV pundit on talkSPORT, saying: “The only downside is our bags went on to London and the only thing that we were left with was actually Martin Keown’s autobiography.
“You know when things can’t get any worse, you’re stuck with Keown’s autobiography for the duration.”
During the flight, Pearce was hooked up to a monitor as he began sweating profusely and struggling with acute pain on Flight VS156.
First aiders treated Pearce as his partner watched helplessly as the drama unfolded.
Describing the health scare, Pearce said: “On the flight I had chest pains, so the crew on Virgin were brilliant and looked after me fantastically.

“My heart rate was racing, my resting heart rate was anything above 155 bpm so that was ridiculous, really.
“My heart wasn’t pumping enough blood around the system and had some swelling…
“At the end of the week, on Friday, they said we’ll stick a tube down your throat, if there’s no swelling around your heart we’ll stop your heart and reboot again and that’s exactly what they did.
“My heart went back to a normal rate and I left the next day.”
