Who is Anthony Joshua’s mother Yeta?

Anthony Joshua was born on October 15, 1989, in Watford, Hertfordshire, to parents Yeta Odusanya and Robert Joshua.

Joshua’s mother Yeta is Nigerian, while his father Robert has Nigerian and Irish Ancestry.

Yeta, who is a former social worker, split from Robert when Joshua was still at primary school.

The proud mum is said to be a huge influence on the boxer’s life, encouraging him to be modest with his impressive fortune.

Joshua bought Yeta a two-bed, ex-council flat in Golders Green, where he spent some of his teenage years.

The boxer bought the property for his mum for £175,000 after his Olympic heroics in 2013.

In 2022, Joshua opened up on his relationship with his beloved mum after he cut a holiday short to help her with a charity bash.

At the time, Joshua explained: ”When the call came there was no hesitation. My mum has been there for me through thick and thin, always supporting me, she is my number one.

“She has supported me through the good times and the bad, the older I get the more I realise how important your parents are so you must respect and support them.

“So I am jumping off my deck chair and heading back to Watford.

“I don’t think there is anyone else on the planet who could get me to get my swim shorts off and back to the rain. The beach volleyball will be put on pause for a few days.”

Who is Anthony Joshua’s father Robert?

Following his parents split when he was aged 12, Joshua remained close to his father, Robert – who has been known to support his son ringside.

In 2019, Robert was left fuming after his son was dethroned of the unified heavyweight titles at Madison Square Garden by 25-1 underdog Ruiz.

Following the defeat, footage captured Robert confronting Joshua’s promoter Hearn in the ring after the fight, with Joshua having to intervene to calm his dad down.

The boxer has previously credited his father when asked where his spirit comes from.

He said: ”Definitely my dad. They called him ‘Big Josh’, ‘Big guy’. He supported all the family. And even when it’s tough you just keep going, keep going.”

Does Anthony Joshua have any siblings?

In 2018, Joshua shared an emotional throwback snap alongside his mum and siblings.

The image shared on Instagram shows Anthony with his mum, Yeta, his brother Jacob and his two sisters Janet and Loretta.

Joshua captioned it: “Before social media was a thing we used to dance & sing. It was family over everything”.

In 2022, the boxing icon hilariously blagged his way to a free McDonald’s burger after striking up conversation with his server – who knew his sister, Nikita.

Unlike their brother, Joshua’s siblings have remained out of the spotlight, and as a result, not much else is known about Jacob, Janet and Loretta.
