Who is bodybuilder Phil Heath?

Phil Heath is a professional bodybuilder.

He was born on December 18, 1979 in Seattle, Washington.

While at high school, Heath was the captain of the basketball team.

He went on to attend the University of Denver on an athletic scholarship, where he studied business administration.

Phil was married to Jennie Laxson Heath from 2007 to 2015 and wed his second wife, Shurie Heath, in 2017.

How long has Phil Heath been a bodybuilder?

Phil began his bodybuilding career in 2003.

It was during his time as a basketball player at university that he found a love for lifting weights.

Heath’s first competition was The Rocky Mountain Northern Physique Committee.

He was crowned the winner his first year and earned himself the nickname “The Gift”.

He then turned professional in 2005.

What competitions has Phil Heath won?

Heath is best known for winning the Mr Olympia title seven years in a row.

He was triumphant at the bodybuilding contest from 2011 to 2017.

Heath’s wins at Mr Olympia make him tied with Dorian Yates and Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s records.

Ronnie Coleman and Lee Haney, however, have eight recorded wins each at the competition.

In early 2023, Heath revealed his plans to compete at the 2023 Mr Olympia contest.

If he wins, he will be the oldest winner in history.

The current holder of that title, the late Shawn Rhoden, won at 43 years and 5 months, while Heath – if successful – would win while six weeks away from turning 44.

Phil holds many other titles from his bodybuilding career.

He has won The Colorado Pro Championships and The New York Pro Championships, as well as the IFBB Iron Man competition and the Arnold Classic Europe.

Heath has also gained titles at the Sheru Classic, the sports festival held in India.

As part of his training, Heath has revealed that he eats eight meals a day.
