Who is Brandi Rhodes and where is she now?

Who is Brandi Rhodes?

Brandi Rhodes was born Brandi Alexis Reed on June 23, 1983, in Canton, Michigan.

Prior to wrestling, she trained and competed as a figure skater from the age of four.

The Michigan native enrolled in the University of Michigan on a full scholarship, and soon after pursued a career in broadcast journalism.

After two years of working as a local news reporter, she earned a Master’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Miami.

In 2011 she was invited to a WWE tryout while working as a model and earned a contract.

She met her husband, Cody Rhodes, while the two worked together at the promotion. The wrestling power couple married in September 2013.

Brandi worked as a ring announcer for different shows in WWE, but she and her husband requested their release from WWE in 2016.

In 2019, it was announced that Brandi would serve as the Chief Brand Officer of All Elite Wrestling, which Cody co-founded.

Cody was also the executive vice president of AEW.

She made her AEW in-ring debut at the promotion’s charity event Fight for the Fallen in 2019.

However, her in-ring run with the promotion was cut short. On January 1, 2021, Brandi announced that she was pregnant.

She gave birth to a girl, Liberty Iris Runnels, on June 18, 2021.

When did Brandi Rhodes leave AEW?

Brandi left AEW in February 2022, along with her husband.

Cody made his WWE return at Wrestlemania 38, but Brandi has not revisited wrestling since her departure.

In a 2023 interview with Ring The Belle, Brandi opened up about her decision to leave AEW.

“It’s not true that we left because the Dan Lambert segments upset me. That’s not true.”

“We were both well on our way to trying to decide what our contracts were.”

“So it was not true that they decided not to renew my contract and only wanted to renew Cody’s, and that’s why Cody left. Not true.”

Where is Brandi Rhodes now?

Brandi Rhodes announced that she had been quietly at work on building a pilates and yoga studio.

She told Denise Salcedo, “I decided a while ago that I was going to open a yoga and pilates studio.”

“[Yoga] really helped and healed me in so many ways after having Liberty, going through the changes that we went through. I just wanted to spread it to people.”

She has been operating Naked Mind Yoga+Pilates Studios in Roswell, Georgia since 2023.
