With Man Utd‘s squad hit heavily by injuries, particularly to the backline after Harry Maguire‘s latest injury setback, Ogunneye has been called up and could make his senior debut tonight.

But who is the 18-year-old?

Who is Habeeb Ogunneye?

Ogunneye plays as a right-back in Man Utd’s reserve teams.

He was born on November 12, 2005.

Having previously appeared for Man Utd’s Under 18s, Ogunneye has stepped up to the Under 21’s this season.

Ogunneye featured in the UEFA Youth League group stage and played for 90 minutes against Stockport in the EFL Trophy earlier this season.

Born in London, he has featured in England youth teams.

However, he is also eligible to play for Nigeria.

He signed a professional contract with the Red Devils back in November 2022.

Ogunneye’s inclusion against Nottingham Forest is the first time he has appeared in a Man Utd squad.

He was called up to Man Utd training ahead of the Fulham game, likely to cover Diogo Dalot, who is otherwise the only fit senior full-back at the club.

If he makes his debut tonight he will become the 250th academy player to represent the Man Utd senior team.
