Marc Klopp was born in Germany on December 13, 1988.
He had a career playing professional football, just like his father Jurgen did before him.
Marc played in defence, mainly as a right-back, until his retirement.
He started playing for his first club FSV Frankfurt under-19s in 2007.
In 2009 Marc signed for Karbener SV, where he stayed until 2010, when he joined SV Damstad 98.
The defender next moved to Borussia Dortmund II in 2012, and his market value was reportedly €11.5million (9.8million) when he signed for the club.
He played for Dortmund’s second team until he took a break from the sport in 2013.
On his return to football, Marc joined Berzirksliga in 2015, before retiring from his playing career later the same year after picking up a number of injuries.
Marc’s successful playing career was undoubtedly inspired by his father’s — Jurgen was an acclaimed striker and a brilliant leader on the field.
They enjoy a close relationship and regularly attend matches together.
What does Marc Klopp do now?
Since retiring from football Marc has co-founded a couple of businesses.
He started Onside Sports, an agency for off-season activities for professional football clubs in the European market, in 2017.
The same year he welcomed Brighton and Hove Albion to their Alpine retreat at Leogang, near Salzburg.
Marc told the Argus: “We are making sure they have the best prep for the Premier League.
“The weather’s good and they are staying at the best hotel in town.”
And in 2022 Marc co-founded ATHLIN, a company offering support and advice to professional athletes.
Speaking about starting the business, he said: “I’ve noticed a significant gap in holistic athlete development and individual guidance.
“Athletes often need help finding trustworthy professional advice, facing an overwhelming array of silo-thinking experts while seeking a partner to help them evaluate and meaningfully combine various disciplines.

Sabine Klopp was born in Germany in 1967.
She and Jurgen were together from 1980 until 2001 — when they decided to go their separate ways after 21 years of marriage.
The reason given for their divorce during the proceedings was ‘irreconcilable differences’ — although neither of them has ever given any details on why they chose to end their relationship.
Sabine prefers to keep herself out of the public spotlight, and not much is known about what she does for a career, or whether she has found love since divorcing Jurgen.
