Who is Marcus Rashford’s ex-girlfriend Lucia Loi?

Footballer Marcus Rashford has known Lucia Loi since the pair were aged 15.

Lucia, who worked as an account executive for Manchester firm Sugar PR, graduated from university in advertising and brand management with first-class honours.

She has been by the side of Manchester United star Rashford throughout his meteoric rise to footballing stardom and travelled with him to various tournaments, including the World Cup.

As of January 2024, the brunette beauty’s Instagram has drastically increased since dating the professional footballer, with Loi now boasting over 150,000 fans and followers on the social media platform.

How long did Marcus Rashford and Lucia Loi date?

Marcus Rashford and Lucia Loi first met in the halls at the Ashton on Mersey school in Sale, Manchester, when the aspiring footballer was coming through the youth team ranks at Old Trafford.

Love blossomed – and as Rashford broke into the United side aged just 18 interest in their private life arose.

However, in 2021, the pair briefly split – blaming lockdown pressures for their break up.

They stayed in touch and remained friends, with pals hoping that they could work on their issues and get back together.

In 2022, Rashford and Lucia confirmed that they were back together – just eight months after ending their relationship.

After getting their romance back on track, Rashford dropped to one knee and proposed to Lucia, when they toured Los Angeles in May 2022.

He confirmed their engagement on Instagram, posting an image of the pair embracing as they stood on a bed of white roses in front of a heart-shaped archway.

A source told the Sun at the time: “They’re over the moon. Marcus has been planning this for a while and wanted to make it special.

“They went out in LA for a romantic night together on Tuesday and he proposed. It was extremely romantic.

“They celebrated afterwards with a group of close friends — including his Manchester United team-mate Jesse Lingard.”

When did Marcus Rashford and Lucia Loi break up?

Following their engagement, in June 2023, The Sun on Sunday revealed that the couple had broken up two months before as Marcus holidayed in Miami.

The star had been taking a break in Miami and partied with girls on a night out – returning with one woman to his hotel at 5am.

Rashford flew to Florida the day after United’s 2-1 FA Cup Final defeat to Man City.

He booked a suite at a hotel as he holidayed with team-mate Tyrell Malacia and pals.

In November 2023, rumours of the pair rekindling their romance began to swirl after they were spotted out together on a date night.

The Sun exclusively revealed that the footballer had hired the cellar of a French wine bar in Manchester for the lavish night out that seats 18.

According to reports, bottles of champagne available to buy at the bar reportedly sell for £950.

A source at the time said: ‘’They were there for hours laughing and joking.

“It’s a very nice place and he booked the whole of it for just the two of them.

‘’He couldn’t stop smiling.”

However, since they seemingly reunited Lucia has not been seen wearing the diamond engagement ring Rashford used to propose to her with.
