Parisse was born on September 12, 1983 in La Plata, capital of the province Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he was also raised.

His family came to La Plata after his father was positioned there for his work with the airline Alitalia in 1970.

Before then Parisse’s father — also named Sergio — played for l’Aquila, with whom he won the Italian club championship in 1967.

Both of Parisse’s parents are Italian and the family often flies to Italy for holidays.

Parisse married partner Silvia Bragazzi-Parisse in 2014, and they have a son together called Leonardo.

In her spare time, Silvia loves to design jewellery made from Venetian glass.
