THE London Marathon Elite races have wrapped up on a stunning day in the capital.
Kenya’s Peres Jepchirchir won the women’s London Marathon in a women’s-only world record time in a race with no male pacesetters.
Peres Jepchirchir set a new world record[/caption]While fellow Kenyan Alexander Mutiso Munyao won the men’s race in a time of a second over 2hrs 4min.
Brit star Emile Cairess secured a stunning podium spot in front of buoyant home support finishing in third place, just ahead of compatriot Mahamed Mahamed in fourth.
And Paralympics hero David Weir finished third in the men’s wheelchair race.

What time did the London Marathon start?
The London Marathon started at 9.05 am for the elite wheelchair racers, followed by the elite women at 9.25 am.
At 10am the elite men start and mass race began.

The route of the London Marathon has not changed since 1981 and follows the capital’s landmarks.
It starts at Blackheath and ends at The Mall.
Runners will pass landmarks such as Big Ben, Tower Bridge, Tower of London, Canary Wharf, The London Eye and Buckingham Palace.
