SPAIN are taking on England in the huge Euro 2024 final RIGHT NOW!
Marc Cucurella has been a mainstay in La Roja’s defence during the tournament – but has been given a hard time by the crowd so far at Euro 2024.
Why is Marc Cucurella being booed at Euro 2024?
Cucurella has been in fine form at Euro 2024 and has played a huge part in Spain‘s journey to the final.
The left-back was involved in a moment of controversy in La Roja’s quarter-final clash against hosts Germany.
Spain knocked out the Germans after a dramatic 2-1 win in extra-time courtesy of Mikel Merino’s 119th-minute winner in Stuttgart.
But when the tie was finely poised at 1-1 in extra time, the hosts thought they had a strong case for a penalty after Jamal Musiala‘s goal-bound shot struck the arm of Cucurella in the box.
English referee Anthony Taylor did not award the penalty to the fury of the German faithful.

Cucurella then became the face of the controversy in the German press in the following days after the hosts’ tournament exit.
Uefa later declared that the decision made by Taylor was the correct one because ‘Cucurella’s hand was not in an unnatural position at the time it was hit by the ball’.
But Cucurella was then booed at the semi-final by German fans in attendance, and it then continued into the final against England in Berlin.
Though Spain fans loudly cheered for Cucurella on every boo in the Berlin final.
