TORINO plan to speak to free agent Che Adams and beat Wolves to his signature.

The Serie A side are keen to land the Scotland forward, who is on the market after failing to sign a new deal with Southampton.

Adams, 28, has been wanted by Molineux chiefs for some time — but now Torino are in for him and may tempt the attacker to join them.

Former Chelsea assistant manager Paolo Vanoli has taken charge of Torino ahead of next season and is looking for a player to form a partnership with Duvan Zapata.

Adams has been without a club for two weeks following the end of his deal, which has made him an attractive option.

It is unclear who Adams will choose.

The Leicester-born star has been out of contract since July 1 after spending five years at Southampton, scoring 41 goals in 164 league games.

Wolves had an £18 million bid turned down for Adams on transfer deadline day last summer.

But the Scotland international helped Southampton to Premier League promotion after scoring 16 goals last season.

Adams would be a useful squad player for most Premier League teams in the bottom half of the table.

He has notched 25 Premier League goals in 124 top flight appearances for the Saints.

The striker arrived on the south coast in 2019 after scoring 22 times to keep Birmingham City clear of relegation in the Championship

Nottingham Forest had registered their interest earlier in the window, whilst Wolves have been long-term admirers.

Meanwhile, Southampton boss Russell Martin is after West Ham star Flynn Downes.

The Saints have already secured five new signings to their squad including Taylor Harwood-Bellis – making his loan from Manchester City permanent for £20million – and Adam Lallana on a free transfer.
