LUKE HUMPHRIES has been told to “roll on the celebrations” after being given SIXTEEN vegan pastries by Greggs for his World Championship win.

The new World No.1 was sent the gift after he picked up the Sid Waddell Trophy last week, beating Luke Littler in an epic final at the Ally Pally.

It’s not clear whether the number of sixteen rolls are a nod to the double eight Humphries hit to win the title or that he beat the 16-year-old Warrington wonderkid.

Maybe it should be dubbed the tungsten takeaway title after Littler had celebrated his opening win of the championship in late December against Christian Kist with a kebab

Humphries said: “Huge thank you to @GreggsOfficial for my gift today. Might need some help to go through them all though.”

He had originally replied to a tweet from the bakery brand offering free sausage rolls to anyone watching the final.

They asked fans to tell them why they deserved to win, prompting the champ to get involved, as he replied: “Well I’ve been doing media for the last 10 hours. Something might have happened last night, and I’m starving. Does that qualify me for a sausage roll?”

Greggs replied and said: “We can probably do a bit better than that. Leave it with us… (p.s. congrats!)”

But the Greggs-loving arrows ace, who recently lost four stone, joked he would pile back on the pounds if they did.

He uploaded a photo of himself prior to his weight loss adding: “Me in three months if I get a gold card.”

He later posted: “You [Greggs] are my faves. Thank you so much.

“I think there asking for a man vs food challenge here.”

Fans loved the gift, one said: “If they contained kebab meat, Littler might’ve helped you.”

Another added: “I hope one day I make it enough in life to get free packs of sausage rolls sent to me. Excellent stuff.”

A third wrote: “Things keep getting better and better for Luke. You could say he’s on a roll.”

Since winning the £500,000 title Humphries has met PM Rishi Sunak and visited his beloved football club Leeds United.

Humphries is next in action on the big stage in the Bahrain Darts Masters on January 18 – and he could face Littler yet again if drawn together.
