WORLD OPEN snooker is finally BACK – and the prize money is bigger than ever.

But unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic forced organisers to cancel the huge event for the last THREE seasons.

However, snooker fans are delighted to see that some of their biggest icons such as Ronnie O’Sullivan will be playing in China for the return of the World Open tournament.

And as usual, the prize money is a great incentive for players to give it their all.

What is the World Open Snooker 2024 prize money?

The World Open Snooker is one of the richest ranking events of the season and has a total prize pot of £815,000 and the winner banking £170,000.

The breakdown is as follows:

  • Runner-up: £73,000
  • Semi-final: £32,500
  • Quarter-final: £21,500
  • Last 16: £14,000
  • Last 32: £9,000
  • Last 64: £5,000
  • Highest break: £5,000

Where is the World Open Snooker 2024 being played?

The World Open Snooker 2024 will be held at the Yushan Sports Centre in Yushan, China,

But the qualification matches took place earlier this year at the Barnsley Metrodome in January.

It is scheduled to get underway on Monday, March 18, 2024 and runs every day until the final on Sunday, March 24, 2024.

Sessions in the early rounds take place at 6.30am and 11.30am UK time – 2.30pm and 7.30pm local.
