LUCA BRECEL has won a printer on a Belgian TV quiz show.

The world snooker champion had to settle for the consolation prize after missing out on a place in the final of Blokken.

Brecel appeared on the show, which translates to “Blocks” in English, two years after initially applying.

He has since amassed a reported £4.5million net worth and became world champion in 2023.

However, the Belgian Bullet had less success in the quiz as he was eliminated after just one episode.

The 28-year-old had needed to answer just one more question correctly to reach the final for a shot at the £850 grand prize.

He incorrectly answered “the Seine”, though, when asked: “On which river are the Walloon cities of Charleroi and Sambreville?”

Brecel later admitted: “I don’t know anything rivers,” but conceded that his printer prize was “handy”.

Show producers had initially thought Brecel’s application was a namesake after spotting his name on the list of registrations.

However, the world number four is in fact a big fan of the show and had applied before his rise to the top of the snooker rankings.

He was finally able to free up time to shoot his appearance two weeks ago after finding space in his schedule.

Blokken is a long-running Belgian quiz show based on the iconic Tetris video game.

Brecel will be hoping for better success next month at the World Masters of Snooker in Saudi Arabia.

The event will take place at the Boulevard Arena and is part of Riyadh Season.

Players will have the chance to complete a 167 break with the addition of a 23rd golden ball worth 20 points.

The golden ball can only be potted once all the other balls have been cleared.
