IT is every snooker player’s dream to lift the World Championship crown – and the prize money makes the victory that little bit sweeter.

Luca Brecel is the reigning champion after pulling off an incredible comeback to beat Mark Selby 18-15 during the 2023 final.

And as a result, the Belgian superstar took home a winning share of £500,000.

However, Brecel has failed to build on his surprise win putting the likes of Ronnie O’Sullivan and Judd Trump on red alert to snatch his title.

But the World Snooker Championship holder will still be desperate to put up a good fight as he targets another huge payday for the 2024 competition.

The prize money will be unchanged from Luca Brecel’s winnings in 2023.

But there will be bonus funds to be won during the main stage of the tournament.

Ronnie O’Sullivan has admitted that he has got to stop overcomplicating his game if he is to finally claim an eighth World Snooker Championship.

Speaking after his Tour Championship final loss to Mark Williams, the Rocket said: “A lot of players like John Higgins, Neil Robertson and maybe Judd [Trump] they don’t overcomplicate things like me.

“They’re not as complex as me. I just need to try and play; I need to stop being too hard on myself.”
