The ace set off a sprinkler as he cracked the ground with his club[/caption]

That left him three-over par and all-but certain to miss the cut.

And the frustration appeared to get too much for the Canadian.

As Hadwin walked off the green in anger, he walloped his club into the rough.

Unfortunately for the raging 2017 Valspar champion, it was more than just steam that he let off.

That’s because he accidentally smashed a sprinkler buried in the grass.

And powerful jets of water immediately exploded out of the ground, leaving him drenched.

Hadwin initially walked off, came straight back with a sheepish look on his face.

He tried his best to stop the water flow while searching for a valve.

But Hadwin could not stop it from spraying all over the shop.

And fans were left chuckling as they reacted on social media.

One said: “He should be DQ’d for that.”

Another declared: “Oh wow that’s embarrassing.”

One noted: “Make him stand there until they fix it.”

Another added: “Dumb move, he is soaked through.”

Hadwin was hoping to produce some magic after sliding to 76th on the Official World Golf Ranking.

The Canadian is yet to secure a top-20 finish in eight PGA Tour starts this year.

But another double bogey at 16 saw him post a second-round 76 to finish 5-over par for the tournament, three shots behind the cut line.
