DARTS star Vincent van der Voort has questioned whether Luke Littler’s exhibition match against Phil Taylor is a good idea.
Darts manufacturer and sponsor Target Darts appeared to announce last week that Littler, 18, and Taylor, 64, would be facing off in a match soon.

The master vs apprentice match has been touted as “two champions going head to head for the first time ever”, and fans are hopeful of seeing the greatest of all time face the youngster who threatens to take that title off him one day.
However, not everyone thinks it’s a good idea – with Van der Voort slamming the potential matchup for being a mismatch of ability.
Speaking on the podcast Darts Draait Door, the Dutchman said: “You don’t want to see Taylor humiliated, do you?”
“It’s an uneven battle, isn’t it, man?”
He added: “Why is Taylor doing this? I really have no idea. Money? I don’t think so, he already has plenty of money.”
“Taylor must not want this anymore, right? Last year he was also supposed to throw an exhibition against Michael van Gerwen and then they had to shorten the format as well.
“He felt himself that he couldn’t give Michael a match anymore. I don’t want to see this at all either.”
The PDC Tour Card holder thought it would be a better idea to see Littler and Taylor play alongside each other in a match with world number one Luke Humphries and another top thrower.

Agreeing with the idea put forward by podcast host Damian Vlottes, he said: “I’d rather see a pairs match of those two than see them against each other. Let’s do that”.
Even Taylor has admitted in the past that he isn’t on the same level as Littler anymore.
The retired thrower suggested that the gulf in quality is so high that he wouldn’t want to face him last year.
Speaking to TalkSPORT, the Power said: “No [I don’t want to play him]. Not yet, I don’t want to play him to be quite honest with you!”
Going on to suggest he would only take on the teen sensation in a skewed match that tips the odds in his favour.
“I’d play him in an exhibition, yeah. One leg of 301, I go first!”, he added.
For Littler, the idea of playing his idol is something “incredible”, telling Sportbible that he expects the match to happen eventually.
He said: “I’m sure that will happen soon. Sooner rather than later.
“To share the stage with him will be incredible. I’m sure we’ll make it happen.
“If Taylor does start practicing, then it will be tough, but if he just sits at home and then comes to an exhibition then I fancy my chances.”
