LUKE LITTLER has been warned that other players will start to ‘dislike him’ because of his success.

The World Champion is preparing to face Gerwyn Price on night three of the Premier League in Dublin tonight.

Littler, 18, has stolen the spotlight in the sport since bursting onto the scene as a 16-year-old in the 2024 World Championship.

At the Ally Pally last month, Littler admitted that he could feel the “tension” from other players.

He said: “It’s definitely not to my face. Not as soon as I walk in, but whenever I’m practising, I can just feel that tension. And I just laugh at it.”

Ex-World Champ and legend Dennis Priestley believes that other players will start to get jealous of the teen sensation.

He told OLBG: “Luke Littler or Luke Humphries are the best two players in the world.

“But that can all change quickly, you wouldn’t be surprised to see somebody else win in Dublin because there is a lot of talent there.

“When you do have one or two players dominating the sport you do start to get disliked by other players because they want that success – they’ll just get more and more determined to beat you.”

Both Lukes were unhappy with the whistling antics of the crowd in Glasgow a week ago – with some individuals booing when players were about to throw.

Priestley, like many others associated with the sport, feels strong action must be taken to stop similar incidents happening in the future.

He added: “The PDC need to spot the culprits and start ejecting them immediately to send out a message.”
