Dortmund vs Atletico Madrid preview

This tie – like the others at this stage of the Champions League – is perfectly poised heading into this second leg.

But it didn’t look that way for a long time last week when Atleti ran into a 2-0 lead after half an hour through Rodrigo de Paul and Samuel Lino goals.

That half time deficit prompted a response from the Germans in the second half and they halved that task when Sebastien Haller pounced with an 81st minute strike.

Atletico remain odds-on favourites to progress and they’ve been in this position plenty of times before.

But they’ve shown some weaknesses in La Liga recently – two defeats from last four games – and the Yellow Wall will be looking for Dortmund to at least win on the night.

And Sebastien Haller’s late goal in the first leg ensures this one is on a knife edge heading here.
