Neil, your dad knew many years ago what Rob and I – and the rest of the world – are only recently discovering. Wrexham is indeed magic. We are in HIS debt and many thousands of supporters like him. https://t.co/WQcJPVeP4p

After the game, Red Dragons super fan Neil James shared an emotional tweet, accompanied with a picture of his late father.

He wrote on X: “Literally back to where we were robbed of! @VancityReynolds @RMcElhenney the town are forever in your debt but @thehumphreyker you will always be our true hero for picking us!

“Absolutely gutted my dad can’t be here to witness this after the miles we put in over the years.”

Upon seeing the tweet, Reynolds felt obliged to reply.

He wrote back: “Neil, your dad knew many years ago what Rob and I – and the rest of the world – are only recently discovering. Wrexham is indeed magic. We are in HIS debt and many thousands of supporters like him.”

Reynolds was left in tears after Wrexham achieved promotion to League One on Saturday.

Wrexham romped their way to League One with a 6-0 thrashing of Forest Green Rovers before wild scenes broke out in Wales.

While the dominant victory on its own was not enough to achieve promotion, MK Dons’ 4-1 defeat at the hands of Mansfield meant Wrexham’s League One spot was confirmed.

The announcement that MK Dons had lost sparked jubilant scenes and a pitch invasion.

Reacting to Wrexham’s second promotion in two years, Hollywood owner Reynolds posted to X saying: “A few years ago, if you told me I would be crying tears of joy over a football match taking place in North Wales, you would be Rob McElhenney.

“Congrats to Wrexham and to my co-chairman in crime. Double up the town! This is the ride of our lives.”

Co-owner McElhenney expressed his regret that he could not be in Wales to witness the promotion in person, and said the time away from the club to film in Hollywood was “killing him”.

He then quoted a post from the club celebrating promotion saying: “No words ❤

How Ryan Reynolds has been watching Wrexham games in style

CO-OWNER Ryan Reynolds hasn't been able to make it to Wrexham in recent weeks due to filming commitments.

But that hasn’t stopped him from watching his team in style.

Streaming the match on a laptop or even a TV was not grand enough for the Deadpool star as he worked on the set of his latest movie.

With a giant green screen behind him, he could not resist broadcasting Wrexham’s recent game on to the huge projector.

Reynolds and his crew watched on as the Welsh side notched their 23rd win of the season against Crawley Town.

He looked enamoured as the game played on behind him while surrounding by various pieces of Hollywood machinery.

And Reynolds captioned the moment: “Watching the Wrexham game at work: new level unlocked.”

It’s not clear what project Reynolds was working on at the time, with the actor currently developing several new movies including sequels to smash hits Free Guy and Red Notice.
