NABY KEITA saw red when he was left out of the Werder Bremen squad.
The German side were in action against Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday.
Ahead of the match, Ole Werner picked a side he was confident could get a result against Xabi Alonso’s unbeaten team.
And he felt that ex-Liverpool man Keita, 29, wasn’t good enough to make the teamsheet.
The African didn’t take it well, according to his boss.
The former Premier League winner decided he didn’t want to get on the team bus and went home instead.
Werner confirmed Keita will disciplinary action.
He said on the club’s X page: “After Naby found out yesterday that he would not be playing from the start, he decided not to get on the bus but to go home.
“We will talk to him and his agent tomorrow about the consequences and how to proceed.”
Keita joined Liverpool in 2018 for a fee of £59million for RB Leipzig.
He was handed Steven Gerrard’s famous No8 shirt, with expectation high.
However, his time at Anfield was hampered by injury.
Incredibly, he would only start 49 Premier League matches across five seasons with the English giants.
But, he would play in the title-winning side of 2019-20 – making 18 league apperances.
Keita left Liverpool last summer when his contract expired.
He returned to the Bundesliga, joining Werder Bremen on a free transfer.
Keita, though, has been restricted to just five appearances for the club – with injuries taking their toll.
